Call of Duty Mobile Review: The Ultimate FPS Experience on Your Phone

Call of Duty Mobile has everything that gamers can ever dream of in a game. It is one of the bestselling video games out there. The call of Duty video game franchise was first published by Activision in 2003.

Infinity Ward was the one who developed the first and second titles of Call Of Duty in 2003 and 2005 respectively. It was further developed by Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software. It primarily focuses on World War 2 settings, however, was later extended to Cold War, Futurism, and Modern Day game settings.

In 2019, TiMi Studio Group launched Call of Duty: Mobile for Android and iOS. It became one of the largest mobile game launches in history with 270 million downloads within a year, generating a revenue of over US$480 million.

Call of Duty: Mobile offers three gameplay modes: Zombie Mode, Battle Royale Modes, and Multiplayer Mode. Let’s discuss each one of them in detail.

Multiplayer Mode is the first shooter game mode, similar to other Call of Duty games. In this players can choose to play ranked or non-ranked games. Call of Duty relies on two game currencies, one is “Credits”, which can be earned by playing the game and the other is “COD points”, which can be bought with actual money. It has different game modes that vary on basis of playing time, such as Prop Hunt, Capture the Flag, Gun Game, and so on.

Battle Royale is a game mode that features around 100 players. It can be played either be played alone or as a team of two or four. Once all 100 players are ready, the game begins. All 100 player board a plane and then flies over the map. The team leader decides when and where all team players will land.

Initially, all players are equipped with only a knife, they will have to find best guns, vehicles, and items that will help them in killing other players and improving their chances of survival. Safe Zone of Map shrinks and players have to stay within it to survive. The last remaining Player or Team wins the game.

Zombies Mode features one map Shi No Numa. In this game mode, players or teams are placed in front of zombies that attack in waves. It can be played in two modes: Raid mode and Endless Survival Mode. The level of difficulty can be adjusted from Normal to Heroic level.

Minimum Requirements of Call of Duty: Mobile

For Android, Dual Core CPU with 1.2GHz, Minimum 2 GB RAM, and 15GB of Internal Storage. The Operating System version should be Android 5.1 or higher.

For iOS, all of Duty is compatible with iOS 9 and higher, iPhone 7 or later.

GPU: Kyro 260 or Equivalent

For a smooth running of this game, Snapdragon 660 Octa Core 2.2 GHz or equivalent is preferable. Requirements can further be changed depending on updates and the addition of newer versions. As it is a game, it can be quite demanding.

COD: Mobile has a huge collection of 38 maps that offers players a variety of modes and locations from existing game versions such as COD Warzone, Modern Warfare, Vanguard, and Black ops.

It also introduces new maps and locations, weapons, additional precise details to the maps, new costumes, and so on.

Graphics are simplified a little bit as compared to its pc and console versions so that it can be played on all mobile phones, not just gaming ones.

You also buy gun skin, cosmetics, accessories, gear, weapon attachments, and weapons using real money. However, it is very easy to get them by playing the game for just a few hours. It also gets unlocked along the way as you become an expert in the game.

It offers in-app purchases for the sake of convenience rather than to win the game. It’s the choice of the player and the game doesn’t continuously force you to make in-app purchases.

With the Battle Royale feature of the Call of Duty: Mobile, gamers get an outstanding experience of the call of duty game. It gets unlocked after you reach level 7 of the game.

Nothing can beat the controller experience, However, COD: Mobile has good controls for aiming and firing. They are well-designed to suit mobile interfaces. With newer updates, developers have added Bluetooth connectivity that allows gamers to connect the controller to the phone.

The controls interface is a bit cluttered with around 20 buttons on the screen all the time.

Touch controls are not as accurate and responsive as console controllers, which negatively impacts usability and accuracy.

Timing is not well suited for a mobile game and serves as an inconvenience to play it for a long time on the mobile phone.

It takes up a lot of storage space on phone, therefore taking a long time to launch and download the additional updates.

It requires high-speed internet to run this game properly, else it will lag or show a network error.

Suggestions and Improvements

Since its initial release, there had been many improvisations, and zombie modes were relaunched with updates when gamers faced technical issues with them. Bluetooth Connectivity was not there in the initial version of the game, it was later added at the request of the game community.

Improvisation in controls and accuracy was seen in newer updates. However, further improvements are needed to declutter and organize the gaming screen as well as in-touch controls.

    It’s gaining more and more unchecked cheaters with every hack and advantage imagininable, almost as though they encourage cheaters,they run amok.
