Post-Credits Scene in Lies of P Hints at Possible Soulslike Adaptations for More Children’s Tales

Please note: This article contains spoilers for the final moments of Lies of P.

Lies of P, the Soulslike game inspired by Pinocchio, officially launches today, and it holds a surprising secret for those who reach the end of its dark journey. Discovered by IGN, Lies of P’s post-credits scene suggests the possibility of a sequel based on another beloved children’s story. In this brief clip, a character named Paracelsus converses with an unidentified woman over the phone, hinting at their pursuit of “another key,” identified only as “Dorothy.”

The scene then transitions to a scene in Karat, where a girl, recognizable by her bright red shoes, strolls happily. To leave no doubt, she pauses to click her heels three times, plunging the scene into darkness on the third click.

This unmistakably hints at Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, suggesting that Neowiz, the game’s developer, may have plans to reimagine this iconic tale in a Soulslike fashion. It raises the intriguing possibility that Neowiz might explore various famous children’s stories in a similar dark and action-packed style.

However, it’s important to note that this is purely speculative, and we await official confirmation from the developer regarding their post-Lies of P plans. Until then, we can only wait with bated breath.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Lies of P, despite its thematic focus on deception, may have had a minor fib of its own. The game’s initially announced launch date of September 19 saw an early digital release, arriving 24 hours ahead of schedule, leaving players curious about the reasons behind this unexpected move.
